Step 1: Simply place the bolt through the bearings and thread the 1st jam nut onto the bolt followed by the washer.
DO NOT TIGHTEN THE JAM NUT AGAINST THE BEARING.
The jam nut is only intended to secure the gear to the bolt, not to tighten the bolt against the bearings
Step 2: Press the standard nut into the nut capture in the big gear and then thread it onto the bolt. Tighten the gear securely against the jam nut. Be careful not to tighten the jam nut into the bearings during this process.
The gear should now be tight on the shaft while the bolt turns freely in the bearings.
Step 3: Tighten the 2nd jam nut against the gear to lock the assembly in place
